This week we are reading the article "Black Blizzard". We have talked about the text structure and it appears to be cause and effect. What are some examples that tell you the text structure is cause and effect? Why do you think writers use text structure to organize their writing? And based on what you know from the videos and the article, how would you explain the Dust Bowl to a friend in the 4th grade?

I would say that the dust bowl was a big black cloud of dust and many people lost their homes farms and the banks shut down so the farmers could not buy things to grow or sell. Some people stayed and some people went across the state to get away

When the dust storm came people we're killed and banks, stores and farmers had to be shut down because of the storm.because they might tell that the story could be about text structure.I would give them info about the dust storm.

Black blizzard is a good article it is cause and effect because the black blizzard came and then the farmers went out of buisness.writers use text structure to let you learn something and give information so when you go home you can tell your parents what you learned so far in class.

I will say to a 4th grader. The dust bowl was one of the worst natural disasters in American history. If you try to save your safe from it is the best way to stay safe is to cover your face cause you can't go in a house it will come in from the cracks and kill you.

I think why it is cause and effect because the black blizzard cause people to move away and the effect is that people did not want to move because of the gold and they didn't want to move and it was something called the gold rush there where

Thing that tell me it is cause and effect is that the cause was the drought and the effect was the dust bowl and the black blizzard. Writers use text structure to organize there work so we the readers can understand. I would say the dust bowl was a horrific event that happened in Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico there was dust everwhere could never go any where without dust.

This gives me an idea that the article we are reading (black blizzard ) is an cause and effect because cause-the stayed back while others headed on rout 66 effect-they ended up dieing or slowly dieing, because its better to be organized and have your things so the reader can learn wat happen in the exact order that it happend it also gives the reader a better understanding of the story,I could say in 1936 a dust storm came along Texas panhandle.the storm was so bad that some people were smarter to leave and head in another direction and I could also thee them that the black blizzard came around the same time. As the dust bowl and how some people tried to prevent the storm by covering the windows with wet towel and how the sat in the middle of a room covering their faces with wet towels also bunched up together

And it said when the wind reached 50 or 60 miles an hour, they picked up the topsoil right off the ground .and the flying dust buried roads.

I could say that the dust bowl is the worst storm Oklahoma has ever had and that many people migrated and they moved to the west and they didn't have much money to pay their mortgages and that they had a drought and the famers got almost no rain at all and many people died.the cause is that they had a drought and they had no rain and the soil was dry and the effect is that they had the worst storm and they had to move west to grow crops and other things to keep their families from starving.

In January of 1848, James Marshall had a work crew camped on the American River at Coloma near Sacramento. The crew was building a saw mill for John Sutter. On the cold, clear morning of January 24, Marshall found a few tiny gold nuggets. Thus began one of the largest human migrations in history as a half-million people from around the world descended upon California in search of instant wealth.

An example of the cause and a effect is you burn your hand on the stove and your mama said dont,I think authors use text structure because the reader can understand better. And I can explain the DustBowl to a 4th grader by saying the dust bowl was very poor the was in a bad condition that was called starvation and they couldn't find food or money to buy stuff so a big black dust storm came and they had to leave they thought it was the end

It can tell you that it is cause and effect because cause and effect are use in simaler stories like the three little pigs, little red riding hood, and princess and the frog. Those are examples of stories with cause and effect. I think they use text structure to organize because it can tell you what happen

If I was telling the forth grader how it was I would tell them how some people decided to stay behind and make muny of of the town of damage.and how some people traveld throught other city's.some city's had shops the cars would go by to get things.but now ether is a mother hight way that cars could go throught.so now the stors are not making much muny now so they closed the shop.the people that left are the people that traveld throught the city's to get things from the store.and that that there is just what I would say.
